Reviews & Art

“This place feels like home. I can’t think of a better way to describe it. It has so much soul. So much story. A place where you can unwind.”

Bobbie – singer-songwriter and founder of open mic gatherings Voices Unleashed, Amsterdam. In Land of Enchantment she worked on the songs for her new album.

The best place you can imagine to open up your creativity and yourself. Supported by the surroundings and the guidance of Milou. Everyone had an enormous transformation here.‘ Sebastiaan

‘The first day I woke up here I felt differently. Supported by the morning circle in one day a song arose. This place is just really magical and so quiet. Also the guidance of Milou help you to feel deeper and create from what is real.

Lourens Lente – filmmaker & musician worked on his music, his photo project and vision for his new band project. He made the infra pink pics in our garden and on the coast:

Through this place and my time here I understood more deeply how my own creative processes work and how I can work with that. And also I found back the love and the passion for the subject of my project that had been waiting to be finished for years.‘ Willemien

Snippets from the morning rituals:

Sabine Rovers is a visual artist working on her new book in our residency. She shared a foraging masterclass on our land. Opening our eyes for the variety of plants and their medicinal power and folklore:

Lizan is an alt-tuned, soul-infused singer blending intimacy and resistance into her music. Guided by shimmering grooves, she explores freedom and system-injustice.

Lianne de Jeu (setdresser):
‘This place made me re-imagine what life can be. Also how the seasons play a role in it and what the gift of Winter is. It opened my eyes for how I could also shape my life, I refound my love for visual arts, while working all of January on my music.’ Pictures by Lianne from the foraging workshop and the closest beach she made during her stay.

South African Michael Sebastian creates live dance music, and is on a mission to liberate his audience. He combines electronic, world and jazz music to create an engaging and uplifting experience. In Land of Enchantment he focuses on his dance practice and works on his next record. On the right a peek in his morning practice in our workshop space.

A collab between Scottish poet Ria Bronte and videomaker Ivy West from the US. A visual poem on grief in our garden and nearest beach. Ivy:

‘This place feels like a minute of peace that you can carry with you. The sense of knowing that places like this exist. That feels magical, weird and wild in the best possible way. It reminds you that you can be whoever you want.’

Suzanne (Oceanpreneur) is an advocate for the health of the oceans worldwide. During her stay she worked on her second book and oceanpreneur community, reconnecting people with the ocean so they take care better of our precious waters.

It was the perfect place to write, surf and work on my project. It is so quiet here, you are in the middle of nature. I enjoyed my time so much, thanks a lot!
